Fexly - Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 27, 2026
Fexly is a currency and cryptocurrency converter that also keeps your payments, subscriptions, trips and income in your own currency. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it. In short: everything you enter stays on your iPhone. Fexly has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and does not sell or share personal data.
Data stored on your device
These are kept only on your iPhone, so the app works offline, and are deleted when you delete the app:
- Settings: language, appearance, colors and themes, decimal places, rate source, bank fee, key sounds
- Your currencies, pairs in Trends and rate alerts with their levels
- Trips and their expenses: amounts, currencies, categories, notes, dates, budgets
- Payments outside trips and subscriptions: names, amounts, currencies, categories, dates, charge days and the card name you give a subscription (only a name you type, never card numbers); reminders before a charge are scheduled on your iPhone
- Income entries you add, with amounts, dates, clients and notes
- The last downloaded rates and rate history, for offline use
Fexly does not upload any of this anywhere. iCloud Backup of your iPhone may include it, as with any app, under Apple's privacy policy.
Camera
The price scanner uses the camera only while it is open, to read prices on the screen. Text recognition runs entirely on your iPhone; images and recognized text are never saved or sent anywhere. You can turn off camera access at any time in iPhone Settings → Fexly.
Location
When you start a trip, Fexly may ask for your approximate location to pick the local currency. It is used once on your iPhone to find the country (Apple names the country from the coordinates) and is never saved or sent anywhere else. You can turn off location access at any time in iPhone Settings → Fexly.
Siri, Shortcuts and Apple Pay purchases
You can use Fexly with Siri and the Shortcuts app. If you set up a Shortcuts automation for Apple Pay purchases, iOS passes the amount and merchant of a purchase to Fexly, which adds it to your current trip, or to Payments when no trip is going on, on your iPhone. Fexly never sees your card number or bank details, and the purchase is not sent anywhere. The automation is created and controlled by you in the Shortcuts app and can be turned off there at any time.
Notifications
Rate alerts are checked by the app on your iPhone and shown as local notifications. You can turn them off in iPhone Settings → Fexly → Notifications.
Exchange rates
To show rates and charts, Fexly downloads public rate data from its own rate service at api.fexly.app, which gathers rates from the sources below. If the service is unavailable, the app downloads them from these sources directly:
- Coinbase - https://www.coinbase.com
- ExchangeRate-API - https://www.exchangerate-api.com
- National Bank of Ukraine - https://bank.gov.ua
- National Bank of Poland - https://nbp.pl
- European Central Bank - https://www.ecb.europa.eu
- Bank of England - https://www.bankofengland.co.uk
- Open currency archive (fawazahmed0/exchange-api) via jsDelivr - https://www.jsdelivr.com
These requests only ask for rates (for example, which currencies and which period) and contain nothing about you. Like any website, the server that answers sees your device's IP address while it handles the request. Fexly's rate service does not log or store IP addresses or any other information about the devices that use it. The sources' own privacy policies apply when the app contacts them directly.
Children
Fexly is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, for example when a new feature handles data differently, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date.
